Hope you all had a nice Christmas I know I did .
Now its that time of  year where we sit back and refelct on the year we have all had .


My 2010 as been a busy year . At the start of the year I was busy studying for my SQA Standard  Grade exams which I was sitting in May of this year but I still made time to do some fun stuff . In case you are wondering I passed all exams i sat and got best grades I could

During my exams I attended my first ever SAMS magic convention in greenock. Had a great time

After my exams I flew out to Icmeler turkey for a week for a family holiday. I had a great time seeing and doing things I haven’t before .I also went to sunny beach in Bulgaria for week two weeks after going to Icmeler .Sunny beach is like Bulgaria’s Ibiza. After the summer I left school and I started college doing NQ computing (hardware and networking)

Well that is my past 365 days in 3 paragraphs
I have loads planed for the following year (2011) some magic related and some not

well thats all from me for this year and I would like to wish all my freinds new and old a

very happy new year  and all the best for 2011

The video below is a video of me performing a classic trick in magic by the “professor” Dai Vernon and Bruce Cervon called "Devil's Elevator" it can be found in his book The Cervon File on page 232.I first learned this trick about a year ago from the book The Cervon File and since then I have showed it to almost everybody I have performed magic to and its went down well. so I thought I would film a quick video of me performing the trick . Well that’s enough history from me.

Its almost that time of year again, where everyone gets together to spend time with friends and family.
Yes I am talking abut Christmas and new year .
This is just a short blog to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I started filming the video about a month and a half ago but the trick originally wasn’t going to be the paddle trick. It was going 2 be the devils elevator but after about 20 different attempts I thought that every performance I had done wasn’t worth posting so I kicked the idea of a new video out of the window (didn’t really kick it) .
 
I then went to my magic drawer a few days later which is a drawer all magicians have full of stuff they haven’t used in ages and properly will never use again . I was looking in this drawer for a trick I told a friend about I found it then I kept looking to see what else I had then I saw it .
 
Sitting in the back left corner was the paddle trick I have some good memories of this trick so I started playing about with the trick for a few days showed it 2 a few friends and some family members.
 
 About 2 days after that I was watching a ton of really badly made magic trick performances on youtube I had a thought. That thought was I will post a youtube and show these guys up. I went up stairs to see what trick I could do in the video. Looked about for a while and never had an idea didn’t want to do a pick a card trick wanted more of a visual trick so I never saw much so thought I give in just forget about it but as I was leaving my bedroom I saw the paddle trick on the table so I thought I will do that .
 
A few hours later I started 2 film the video had everything set up my tripod, camera, trick and table to perform on. I started 2 film filmed about 20 different attempts each one different from one before I went to my computer and started 2 look over the stuff I had filmed had narrowed it down to three different clips so watched these three videos about ten times each till I decided on which one to use.
 
I sat there trying to edit it but I wasn’t getting anywhere and I saw that I wasn’t good  enough editing for the project that I had in mind. I then got in touch with my friend Adam Weeden of adamweeden.co.uk who I know is very good with video editing and asked if he could edit my video for me a thankfully he agreed.
 
So many messages later and a few attempts we finally agreed on what clips 2 use so he sent me the files for the titles and the ending I put the clips together and the video was done. below is the video me and adam made

This story just goes to show that you can do youtube videos of magic but you cant use magic 2 help you make them
